Pulp Stiktion's Sold Separately

Pulp Stiktion is changing (for now)! Because Jordan and I are miles apart and rarely see each other, it is quite impossible, and rather impractical to continue PS's regularly scheduled storyline. However, I (like many of you) just can't shake my need for Stiktion. That's why I'm starting a new storyline, just until we are geographically reunited.

Enter "Pulp Stiktion's Sold Separately".

Continuing our beloved "toymic" style, and taking place in the same setting, Sold Separately follows two detectives on their quest to solve the murder of the House's top mobster, while unwittingly uncovering an even bigger plot: a house-wide slave trade operation!
It will be executed in a film noir style with a pinch Law and Order. Don't expect a lot of laughs, but I'll throw in a couple here and there.

While I'll be doing this mostly on my own, I can't take credit for the whole thing. I'll still be using many of the STIKFA characters Jordan helped to create, including the main villain, which was a stroke of his genius, and I hope you all enjoy him as much as I do. Also Jordan will be making a background for the comic pages themselves, and I will of course consult him on certain story elements.

Updates will come when I do them, as I'm already working on several other more important projects simultaneously, so there are no set days to expect them.

I think I've covered all the basics. I guess all that's left is to say "enjoy"!

Everybody yell at Jordan!

Okay, so it's true. I moved away, thus putting Pulp Stiktion on an undetermined hiatus. HOWEVER, Jordan still has pictures for the next 2-3 pages, and won't get to work on them. So I urge everyone to flood our forum at www.pulpstiktion.com with Anti-Jordan hate mail until he updates. Soon. I mean, NOW!

Well, if you read our Forums at Pulp Stiktion.com, you'd know what's happening.

Go! Read! Love!

The official PS forums are now open. Not much there, and I still have to switch the style to something better, but for now, this is what we have.

Go, join!

It Has Begun.

News, news news!

So, although we appreciate everything that Smackjeeves has done for us, we're getting our own website sometime soon. This was planned BEFORE the outage, btw. Once we get that site up and running, you'll be able to get your twice-weekly fix of Stiktion, as well as a crapload of extra junk. It'll be awesome, and you really won't have to worry about downtime, as our comic will be the ONLY one hosted there, so bandwidth shall be quite cheap.

Until then, long live Smackjeeves! (we hope.)

It's about time

A good friend to Pulp Stikion, Xylaquin, has done an amazing job.

At what, commenting?

Well, yes...and making the FIRST OFFICIAL PULP STIKTION WIKI.

'What's that?', I can hear you asking.

It's this.

So, bookmark it today, kids, and visit often!

That is all.

Ok, first things first...

We're making a bit of a change right now. We're disabling guest commenting. If you want to comment, sign up for a free account. Not that tough.

...will be divulged very soon. But expect Pulp Stiktion to just get better and better.

THIS JUST IN: No one replies to news posts.

Story at 11.

January 26th, 2006, 11:22 pm

What are you referring to, Willis?

Well, I must say, our next page, after 'Studebaker' is looking quite sharp, but I think it's really the contrast of the orange page, and the colour of Hexx's 'purchase'. This page will be pretty much brand new to everyone on here.

Let the new Stiktion begin!

In local news...

So I'm working on this comic page for a company in California (the details of which I'm forbidden to disclose), and to help the process read a few online tutorials for coloring with photoshop. Turns out I've been doing it so much the hard way. This said, you can bet the subsequent intermissions following future chapters are going to look even better than ever!
Now, the page I'm doing is basically a tryout for a job on one of this company's projects. If I get the job unfortunately this will take a whole lot of my time away from Pulp Stiktion. Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't be abandoning it, just might lag a bit on updates and stuff, because I won't have as much time to write. However, if I don't get the job, I have found a new appreciation for drawing comics, so I might just pull together some of my old ideas from the void of ideas that is my brain, and actually create some books. Whether these would be online or put out with the hopes of actual publishing is yet to be decided, but I definitely want to start spending more time on my drawing, my one true love (sorry, pie).
Also, about the "sweet-ass" camera I said I got for Christmas... Well, for those of you who don't know me let me start with a fact about myself: any technology I touch, eventually turns to crap. Some faster than others. I got a stereo a few years ago, speakers never worked. A CD-clock-radio a little over a year ago, now constantly buzzes to the point of preventing sleep. Various CD-walkmen that constantly skipped despite a supposed anti-skip feature. A car that more or less fell apart from under me, while at the same time getting me high on gasoline fumes.
The point of this little rant is that after only a few weeks of owning said camera, I turn it on yesterday only to find that the lense will no longer extend, rendering it essentially useless. So now I gotta return it. Luckily we've got a tonne of pictures already taken for the remainder of the chapter so hopefully this little fiasco won't slow us down none.
I guess that's it for now.

People, now people, now people, come on!

We need friggin' more fans. Our ratings are doing the opposite of going through the roof. We are sucking, and frankly I haven't got great lungs so make it stop!
I'm so excited for the steak I'm about to cook.

Just to let everyone know...

Our update that will occur on January 1st, 2006 will be the last of the day-to-day updates, and the first of the bi-weekly updates. Our schedule after that page is up is the same as it was at Drunkduck.... Updated every Wednesday and Sunday, usually around midnight EST.

And with that, happy new year to all!

December 25th, 2005, 6:36 pm

Season's Greetings!

Hello everybody and happy whatever-holiday-you-celebrate. Starting at the beginning of Chapter 3 we will be going back to our old schedule of updates on Sunday and Wednesday. Also, I got a sweet digital camera for Christmas (that's the one I celebrate), so there should be no delays in the updates in this run. All the pics are already taken for the pages of Chapter 3 that weren't already up on the ol' DD, and Chapter 4 is currently being written. Got lots of fun stuff lined up for you folks, and we look forward to shooting the next installment. Till then, enjoy catching up and SEND ME TURKEY!!!!

And for everyone who wants to insult others that may be leaving comments on the comic, remember these words: "May the Stiktion cause no friction."

A great man once said that... Me. Just now. Know what else I say? "Rate, you guys!"

Styles and layout

I'm currently checking out what options I have as far as layouts go. I added a very large banner on the top of the main news page. It was just something I whipped up in about 10 minutes (if that). Trying to learn CSS, so that's a bit of an uphill battle, but I believe in this comic, and I love it. That sounds conceited, but I think PS is a great hobby. Plus, I can't draw to save my life, so aside from a sprite comic (*shudder*) this is the best I can do.

This just in: I also hate sprite comics, and I really, REALLY hate manga and manga-wannabe comics. Good night, and have a happy holiday.

News from the world of Stiktion!

Well, we're still going with our page-a-day recap for everyone. Hope no one minds, it's kind of necessary. We're still working on brand new pages, and have many many ideas coming for this little graphic story.

We were thinking of doing a small Christmas special, but it doesn't look like we'll be able to get that through in a timely manner. The Stikfas may be able to send you some warm, fuzzy season's greetings a bit after The Big Day, but at this time, we can't promise anything.

Y'all like toy vehicles, and stories involving them? I hope so.

We've MOVED!

Previously seen at drunkduck.com/Pulp_Stiktion, here is the new official home for DangerFace Studios' Pulp Stiktion: Toy Comic Extraordinnaire.

As we're moving, this means we'll be taking every page we've previously posted on DD and repost it here. Long-time fans will have a month to relive the good ol' days, whereas new readers get the joy of receiving a-page-a-day!

It IS the season of giving, after all.
